There is no cost to the athletes to participate in Special Olympics. Northwest Special Olympics covers the cost of uniforms, team equipment, entry fees, facility costs, and other expenses associated with training our athletes. As a non-profit organization, various fundraisers are used to generate the funds that enable us to pay for these expenses. It costs our organization about $25,000 per year to run and gives our athletes an opportunity to participate in weekly practices (facility fees), state events, allows us to purchase uniforms and equipment for the teams, and for the other expenses NWSO incurs each year (storage unit fees, regular office expenses, etc). The money that is raised directly affects the athletes in our organization.
